Have you ever heard a pastor say, “I just want to preach the Gospel,” or “Christians shouldn’t get involved in politics”? It sounds spiritual, but is staying out of politics really the biblical thing to do?
With the midterm elections approaching, Frank draws from ‘The War on Reality‘, his new book co-written with Phoenix Hayes, to challenge the idea that Christians should steer clear of politics. From the pulpit to the ballot box, he unpacks 10 biblical reasons for political engagement and explains why the consequences of sitting on the sidelines may be greater than you think. Tune in as he answers questions like:
- What mic-drop question should you ask someone who says “Christians should stay out of politics!”
- What is the purpose of government and how does it compare to the purpose of the Church?
- What happens when millions of Christians stay home on Election Day?
- Is the Bible really apolitical and did Jesus stay out of politics?
- What three institutions did God establish, and why do they matter?
- Are Christians trying to impose a theocracy when they vote according to biblical principles?
- Can we legislate morality, and whose morality should influence our laws?
- Does the Bible promote socialism, and is James Talarico interpreting Scripture correctly?
- Is Christianity harmful to society as some people say?
Christians don’t need perfect candidates or perfect policies to make a difference at the ballot box. But making an informed decision starts long before Election Day. Be sure to visit VoteYourFaith.net to explore the issues, examine where the candidates stand, and prepare to cast your vote!
