Nothing summarizes our discussion more today than the famous scene from Kindergarten Cop where a little boy respectfully raises his hand to speak and waits to be called upon. His words of wisdom for the class that he so ardently and patiently waited to share? “Boys have a penis. Girls have a vagina.” In 1990, this was considered so obvious that it was part of the joke. The Genderbread Person is now a commonly used craft for teaching kids (at least those young enough to be interested in anthropomorphic gingerbread cookies) how to identify the various LGBTQ identities. (The Gender Unicorn is another similar curriculum that is used, but more for older students. They are basically the same concepts.) That fact alone should give Arizonans pause, not because of me, but because of what Arizona State University is arguing the law allows it to do. The controversy began with a required ASU employee training called Inclusive Communities. On its face, that title sounds unobjectionable. I have been writing a series about Pride Month to highlight the truth behind the lives of the LGBTQ+ figures we are commanded to celebrate.  Young Christians considering attending state universities should be aware of the kind of propaganda they will encounter and how to respond in a bold yet loving manner that affirms the free offer of salvation through Christ to all.  These so-called “heroes” lived lives of “activism” and “helping the marginalized.” They are held up as people whom the young should imitate.
