Michel-Yves Bollore’ and Olivier Bonnassies recently wrote a massive treatise defending the existence of God titled God: The Science, the Evidence—The Dawn of a Revolution. Three things are very intriguing about this book. First, neither Bollore nor Bonnassies is a theologian. In fact, both are notable scientists. Bollore serves as a computer engineer and has a master’s and a doctorate from the University of Paris Dauphine. Bonnassies is a graduate of Polytechnique (X86) and the Institut Catholique de Paris with a license in theology. Bonnassies started up numerous businesses over the span of his career. Second, both Bollore and Bonnassies approach the topic of God from a strictly scientific perspective. In their massive tome, they offer many reasons to believe in the God of the Christian faith. Their main argument is that…

Universe Designed: A Documentary on God’s Existence

[Editor’s Note: This blog was originally posted on Mama Bear Apologetics] Do you have a sciency cub? Do they make comments about things like “the starlight problem” and “multiverse theory” that make your eyes glaze over? No fear! We got you, mama bears! Our friend, Michael, is not only a sciency-bear, but a really good filmmaker to boot! Let’s face it: much of our Western culture has been steeped in an atheistic worldview where science and reason are seen as the tools of the naturalist. The Christian worldview, meanwhile, is relegated to blind faith. But is this actually true? Do we Christians have any evidence for a Creator? What is the best explanation for the way things are? Questions like these and more are the target of Michael Ray Lewis’…

Moral Argument 3.0: How Neuroscience Bolsters Objective Morality

2. Does God Exist?, Apologetics, Christianity, Gospel, Immaterial Soul, materialism, Mind-Body, Moral Argument, naturalism, neuroscience, objective morality, Richard Stevens, Salvo Magazine, scientific apologetics
Thinkers for centuries have strived to develop arguments to prove the existence of God.[i] Who’d have thought that neurosurgeons would find keys to rocket the traditional Moral Argument into the 21st century? The earlier moral arguments used reason, logic, and common internal thoughts and human experience to make a case for God’s existence.[ii] The Immortal Mind (2025),[iii] by brain surgeon Dr. Michael Egnor and mind researcher Denyse O’Leary, takes the venerable case to new cerebral and spiritual levels. Argument 1.0 The Standard Moral Law Argument   The Moral Law Argument (Argument 1.0) includes three main Elements:[iv] Every law requires a lawgiver. Moral laws exist. Therefore, there is a moral lawgiver. These “laws” refer to rules governing human behavior, not physical or mathematical laws. Argument 1.0 is inductive, meaning it draws from…

Let’s Help Harvard Understand Intelligent Design

2. Does God Exist?, 3. Are Miracles Possible?, Apologetics, Christianity, design argument, Evolution, Gospel, Harvard, Intelligent Design, Jonathan McLatchie, JonathanMclatchie.com, naturalism, scientific apologetics
Last week, my wife and I spent an afternoon at the Harvard Museum of Natural History, in Cambridge, MA, near where we live. We both were generally impressed by the exhibitions, particularly the dinosaur section, and would recommend the museum to anyone visiting Boston. I was, however, quite disappointed to see this notice at the entrance to the display on evolution: It was disappointing to see the inaccurate representation of intelligent design (ID), along with the poor scientific epistemology. A “Super-Natural Explanation”? First, proponents of ID have long stressed that ID, in its purest sense, does not necessarily postulate a supernatural cause but is consistent with a natural or supernatural intelligence. Furthermore, I would contend that the natural / supernatural distinction is problematic. What precisely is meant when a phenomenon…

The Role of Intelligent Design in UNFORGETTING GOD: An Interview with Barry Arrington about his new book

Barry Arrington is a friend, colleague, and top-flight attorney who is deeply interested in how worldviews impact our society. He and I collaborated for close to two decades on the intelligent design blog UncommonDescent.com, which I started in 2005, which Barry managed for more than a decade as a 501(c)(3), and which we finally archived in 2023. In its first decade, Uncommon Descent was the premier blog for advancing the intelligent design movement, though in more recent years other blogs surpassed it in that role, notably EvolutionNews.org. On May 6, 2025, Barry published with Inkwell Press a fascinating new book titled Unforgetting God: Defeating Culture-Destroying Materialism Through Christian Renewal (available at Amazon here). Barry’s perspective as a Christian, intelligent design proponent, and seasoned litigator (he has brought cases before the US Supreme Court)…
